The opportunity

Join the R&D strategy team of a global life sciences consulting firm, helping pharma and biotech clients make better decisions about their pipelines, development programmes and R&D organisations. You’ll lead day-to-day delivery across engagements and grow into a specialist in R&D strategy. Hybrid working, with client travel as needed.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do

  • Shape project scope and approach with engagement leadership
  • Lead day-to-day delivery: workplans, project data and team coordination
  • Frame the key client issues across R&D, build hypotheses and design qualitative and quantitative analyses to test them
  • Synthesise findings into clear recommendations and present them to clients and senior stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development, thought leadership and practice building
  • Coach and mentor junior team members
Requirements

What you’ll bring

  • Strong strategy consulting experience, ideally from a top-tier or Big Four firm
  • Research and development experience in pharma or biotech is highly desirable
  • An MBA or PhD in business, economics, life sciences, a quantitative discipline or similar, or 5–8 years of relevant experience in lieu
  • Up to 3 years of post-MBA experience, typically with 3–5 years before the MBA
  • The presence to communicate with impact to senior decision makers, and enjoyment of leading teams
